Day 1: Mumbai – Guwahati – Shillong
Upon your arrival at the Guwahati International Airport, proceed towards Shillong. You can have a midway halt at Umiam Lake. Check into the hotel once reaching to Shillong. On reaching Shillong visit Wards Lake and Lady Hydri Park. Enjoy the pleasant evening in Shillong. Night, stay in Shillong.
Day 2: Shillong – Mawlynnong village – Dawki – Shillong
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed towards Mawlynnong Village (The Cleanest Village in Asia) and Mawlynnong living root bridge. Visit the cleanest village and a meal there is cherry on the top. Do visit the Living-root Bridge and the sky deck view from the tree house of Bangladesh. Walking up the tree house made completely out of bamboos is a thrilling adventure in itself. After a local meal at Mawlynnong, drive to Umngot River in Dawki for a river canoe over the crystal clear water and visit the Bangladesh border. Overnight stay at Shillong
Day 3: Shillong – Mawsynram – Shillong
Today’s drive is to the wettest region on planet earth, the region accounts to receive the highest rainfall in India. As soon as you enter this region in Monsoons it’s like driving into the clouds. The atmosphere, flora & fauna and the environment absolutely shifts to a totally different area. Enjoy the Mawsynram caves and on return visit the Umiam Lake. Evening spent in local Shillong market (try some local bamboo handicrafts).
Day 4: Shillong – Cherrapunjee
Today, in the morning, depart for Cherrapunjee Enroute visit Garden of Caves. Explore Cherrapunjee by visiting Mawsmai Caves, Mawmluh Caves and Seven Sisters Falls.
Day 5: Cherrapunjee – Nongriat
After breakfast we will visit a few more places in Cherrapunjee and then leave for Tryna Village which is the starting point to the Nongriat Village trek (Double Decker Root Bridge Trek). The trek is about 2hrs. We will have our lunch in the Nongriat Village. After lunch we will visit the famous double Decker root bridge. Return back to the hotel rest of the day is for leisure.
Day 6: Cherrapunjee – Guwahati
Post breakfast, depart for Guwahati. After reaching check in to the hotel and rest of the day is at leisure and shopping you can also visit Kamakhya Temple.
Day 7: Guwahati – Mumbai
After breakfast, leave for Guwahati International Airport and depart for Mumbai with fond memories.
